Google pixel 2

Google Pixel 2 Reviews

It’s pretty safe to say the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL are two of the better top-end phones that have been launched last year. One of their most impressing feature was the camera, which really set the bar high for all other smartphones out there.

Of course google is smart and after getting such high popularity and recognition doesn’t stand still and is developing the second generation of Google Pixel services which in fact the users will be able to get the first glance in only couple of months. But unfortunately it is still in a rumor stage if we will get to see 2 or 3 new devices though.

Google Pixel 2 Display

The smaller upcoming Google handset is expected to boast a 5-inch screen, whereas the larger phone is reportedly having a larger screen than the 5.5-inch Pixel XL, probably a 5.6- or a 5.7-inch ordeal. Given that bezels are as slim as rumors say theme to be, we even dare to pitch the idea of possible 6-inch diagonal for the Taimen’s display. That totally isn’t such a crazy idea given that Google has already showed us that it’s not afraid of releasing large phones with the Nexus 6.

Just like the Google Pixel and the Pixel XL, El Goog’s next phones are going to boast OLED displays as well. You have to admit to the saying “once you go OLED, you never go back”. But the supplier of the panels themselves could be different than last year when Google partnered with Samsung Display. This time around, LG Display could be the one to take this honour.

Google is also ready to invest around $880 million in LG Display, which has been wooed as a possible contractor, in order to secure enough OLED display panels. If the South Korean company accepts the offer, Google could increase the size of the investment depending on the details of the contract, such as supply conditions.

When talking about resolution, we suppose that the next Pixels will still boast Quad HD displays. But it is also possible that the display resolution and the aspect ratio might be totally different – according to a leaked screenshot from GFXBench’s benchmark database, the Taimen could be boasting a 5.6-inch display with a resolution of 1312 by 2560 pixels. This would work out a 17.5:9 aspect ratio, which means that the screen of the phone will be taller than your regular 16:9 device, yet not as tall as the LG G6 or the Galaxy S8/S8+. Remains to be seen if the smaller Pixel will also score a display with such an aspect ratio.

Google Pixel 2 Camera

Also according to this leaked screenshot we are about to have a 12MP snapper at the rear of the Taimen, whereas the selfie camera would likely weigh in at 7MP, which might seem like a pretty lowly resolution, but it’s more than enough for social media.

Google Pixel 2 Naming and Manufacturer

We’ve been hearing hearsay that Google’s working on a few devices: a so-called Walleye to succeed the Pixel, a Pixel XL successor dubbed Muskie, as well as a third, larger, all-new handset rolling under the Taimen moniker. We have been playing back and forth with these rumors for a couple months now, but the hottest one stands to shred these rumors to dust –  it tries to convince us that Google has scrapped the idea of releasing a whole lot of three new devices and has reportedly opted for announcing merely two phones sometime this fall. As per the rumor, Muskie has been scrapped in favor of the Taimen, which is mildly intriguing due to several reasons.

As you probably already know last year’s Pixel and Pixel XL were the result of a collaboration between Google and HTC, which had the responsibility of actually manufacturing the devices. Rumor has it LG has been chosen as this year’s contractor for the second-gen Pixel, which is not surprising at all since Google and LG have a long and productive history of collaborating on the Nexus family of devices.

For many of you the first thought hearing about this collaboration with LG might be – will the design be the dead ringers of the LG G6? No worries my friend, Pixel and Pixel XL were not based on pre-existing design and neither Google Pixel second generation will be. Google has full creative control over its phones’ design.

Google Pixel 2 Design

So far, we merely have a vague idea of what the Pixel 2 and the larger Taimen might look like. Of course, there are renders based on the usual rumors that Google might be exploring the realm of bezel-busting handsets with an exorbitant screen-to-body ratio, but who knows. For sure Google Pixel with such design would look good, especially when compared with the first Google Pixel phones.

While we have nothing concrete or juicy about the design of the Walleye, we’ve heard through the grapevine that the Taimen is about to feature such bezel-slimming design that will make it relevant to the contemporary industry trends. It might be a little weird for Google to bring such a massive design overhaul to only one of its new devices, but we shouldn’t rule out that possibility though.

Google Pixel 2 Hardware

As we mentioned above there is a leaked GFXBench screenshot. And aside from the display resolution and aspect ratio, it’s also giving us a sneak peek at the hardware that will potentially make it inside the next Pixels.

The 5.6-inch Taimen seems to be powered by none other than the Qualcomm 835 chipset running ablaze at 2.4GHz and paired with some 4GB of RAM for excelling multitasking purposes.

An Adreno 540 GPU holds the promise of crushing through any game you might throw at it, and finally, we seem to have around 128GB of native storage aboard, with some 100 of which would likely be user-accessible.

Now while these roumored tech specs aound like music to our ears and are very logical, but lets don’t forget that there is also a chance of things not turning as we expected. Given that Google is unlikely to announce and release its upcoming Pixel phones sooner than in this fall, there’s always the chance that a speedier chipset might find its place within the confines of the Pixel smartphones.

Google Pixel 2 Software

There is no doubt about it that the next-generation Pixels are unsurprisingly going to showcase the next version of Android, which is currently only known as “O”. Just like the first Google Pixel devices, we have a warm feeling that the new phones will have a couple of exclusive software features that will set them apart from other bone-stock Android devices. As for example, the Google Assistant was initially a Pixel-exclusive and only later on arrived on other Android phones.

Google Pixel 2 Will Be The Fastest Working Smartphone

Google Pixel 2 might just be the fastest working smartphone that’s released this year

No question, every year every smartphone company thrives to make their product the best – more good-looking, more desirable, more convenient for the user, better cameras, better screen resolution, smarter, faster… the list could go on for ages. This time we will be talking about smartphones speed. So Talking about speed, the Galaxy S8 and the OnePlus 5 pack mobile chips built on 10nm tech which was a first for smartphones. And every high-end smartphone will have built in a chip similar to that, including iPhone 8 and Google Pixel 2.

Google Pixel 2 will be the fastest working smartphone

But the hot rumor has it that Googles new upcoming phones will have a chip version that’s going to be even faster than the Galaxy S8’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 835.

Our source for this information is FudZilla. They say that Google Pixel 2 is likely to be the first smartphone to have Snapdragon 836 chip boult in it. As a Google Pixel first series owner, this doesn’t surprise me at all and from Google Pixel, I would expect nothing less than that.

It is known that last year while making first Google Pixel series, Google and Qualcomm collaborated to put an updated Snapdragon 820 version inside the Pixels, and that chip was the Snapdragon 821.

This report doesn’t mention the source of this rumor though, but it says the Pixel 2 will have a “smaller chip” than its predecessor. And also, Fudzilla says that you can “expect better quality pictures too”. That’s all we have, so we have to read between the lines a bit.

The amazing Snapdragon 836 chip is expected to come with increased maximum clock speeds for both the CPU and the GPU, which could lead to improving the speeds and better battery life as well. So how much faster could the Google Pixel 2 actually be? About 10% faster, if this report is accurate.

As written in the previous articles we are still expecting the new Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel XL 2 to arrive this autumn, to be more exact we expect it early October. Also, another report notes that the new smartphone will be sporting similar components, but featuring different designs.

So, let’s hold tight and wait for new reports and rumors speculating and guessing new Pixel series phone techs and specs and wait for the Google Pixel to arrive.

Headphone Jack For Google Pixel 2 Is No More

Breaks about most Android gadgets normally fly up left, right, and focus months before they’re reported. This isn’t the situation for Google’s Pixel line, be that as it may: the gossipy tidbits we’ve seen so far are to a great degree constrained, both in number and substance.

The gadgets in the renders obviously stick to Google’s plan dialect, highlighting that unmistakable two-piece back plate, and roundabout back unique finger impression scanner. They don’t contrast excessively from a year ago’s cycles regarding appearance, however there are some new augmentations, to be specific, front-terminating stereo speakers and an all-new camera.

Headphone jack for google pixel 2 is gone

It had been theorized that the new Pixel telephones, or if nothing else the bigger XL variation, would accompany double cameras. This doesn’t appear to be the situation, and rather, it would appear that they will include an extensive, single focal point. This ought to accommodate some outstanding photograph quality, if it’s anything like the first Pixel’s camera, yet some may be baffled to see that it juts somewhat from the handset’s body.

Presently, here’s the genuine fascinating part. Keep in mind how Google took a hit at Apple’s evacuation of the 3.5 mm earphone jack a year ago in its Pixel business? All things considered, it creates the impression that the hunt mammoth has discarded the 3.5 mm standard this year and ran with only a solitary USB Type-C port.

As far as measurements, the Pixel 2 is relied upon to be 145.3 x 69.3 x 7.8 mm, with additional 0.4 mm added to its thickness by the camera knock. The Pixel 2 XL will gauge at 157.6 x 76.3 x 7.9 mm, with a 0.7 mm camera knock.

We don’t have any information on the dispatch date presently, yet we’ll make a point to keep our eyes open for it. Meanwhile, you can read the various Pixel 2 bits of gossip at the connection.

What do you think? Is the earphone jack a dealbreaker? Give us your musings in the remarks.

Google Pixel 2 Price And Release Date
