In case you use your phone for work, a personalized greeting is needed to look professional. Even in case you do not, you continue to want people to listen your voice and know they referred to as the proper range. No one likes getting those canned voicemail greeting!

By default, the voicemail greeting on the iPhone is generic: “Your call has been forward to an automated voice message system…”  Recording your own custom voicemail greeting on the iPhone is really simple.

If you don’t make any adjustments the default iphone voicemail message is quite bland and now not very professional. It is a great concept to change the iphone voicemail message to something extra professional or at the least something that we could callers recognise they reached the right individual.

With visual voicemail you may not remember how to call voicemail to set it up. We’ll show you how to record a new iPhone voicemail message and listen to your current one.

Here we are going to shows you how to change the Voicemail greeting to a custom message on your iPhone.

Notes:

  • If you do not have the Greeting option when you tap Voicemail, ensure that your voicemail has been set up.
  • If your voicemail has been set up and you are unable to change your greeting through the Voicemail tab, dial *86 then choose option 4 to change.

From the Home screen, tap Phone.

Step 1: Tap the Voicemail icon then tap Greeting.
Greeting is located in the top-left corner of screen.

Step 2: Tap Custom to record a greeting.

Step 3: Tap Record to begin recording the custom greeting message.
To listen to your recording before saving, tap Play.

Step 4: Tap Stop to end recording then tap Save.
Save is located in the top-right corner of screen.

iPhone Voicemail Greeting Tips

  1. Make sure that you’re using the custom greeting you just recorded and not the default greeting. Confirm that the checkmark is next to the Custom option before you leave this screen.
  2. You can only have one custom voicemail greeting at a time
  3. There’s no button that lets you delete a custom greeting. Instead, you have to record a new one in place of the one you want to get rid of
  4. While it is possible to undelete voicemails in some situations on the iPhone, you can’t undelete voicemail greetings. If you recorded a new greeting and saved it, the old one is gone.
