Educational Testing Service (ETS Scholarship 2017) USA is a global leader not-for-profit organization with a mission to advance quality and equity in education through testing and assessment since 1947. It strives to provide innovative and meaningful measurement solutions that improve teaching and learning, expand educational opportunities, and inform policy.

National Testing Service – Pakistan (NTS) and ETS has been working together since January 2011. ETS-USA, an industry leader in English Language assessment for over 65 years, designed TOEIC L&R, TOEIC S&W, TOEFL Primary, TOEFL Junior, TOEFL ITP and TOEFL iBT tests to measure English skills that enable students, educational institutions and organizations to get an edge in today’s global marketplace.

In order to promote English language proficiency among the various grade students and to help efforts in producing market competitive human resource, NTS has envisaged a scholarship program for the deserving students.

Objectives

  1. To promote English language proficiency in the Education Sector of Pakistan, and
  2. To produce global competitive human resource.

Who Should Apply to NTS- ETS Scholarship?

The scholarship awards are available for the age group of students from 8 years to 21 years old also studying in 3rd standard grade to under 16 years of education.

Eligibility Criteria

TOEFL Primary

Number of Awards: 20

NTS- ETS Scholarship Eligibility Criteria for students:

  1. In age group of 8 to less than 10 for Step – 1 and 10 to less than 12 years for Step – 2 and
  2. Students studying under 3rd Standard of school to 5th Standard either in Public or Private sector school.

Financial Award per Awardee: Rs. 15,000/-

2. TOEFL Junior

Number of Awards: 20

NTS Need Based Scholarship Program 2nd Phase 2017

Eligibility Criteria for students:

  1. In age group of 11 to 16 years, and
  2. Students studying in 6th – 8th Standard either in Public or Private sector school.

Financial Award per Awardee: Rs. 15,000/-

3. TOEFL ITP: Number of Awards: 30

Eligibility Criteria for students:

  1. In age group of 16 to 18 years and
  2. Students studying in 9th – 10th Standard of public and private schools for Level 1.

iii. Students studying in 9th – 10th Standard of government Schools ONLY for Level 2.

Financial Award per Awardee: Rs. 20,000/-

  1. TOEIC Bridge / TOEIC L&R: Number of Awards: 45

Eligibility Criteria for students:

  1. In age group of 17 to 21 years and
  2. Studying under 11th to 13th Grade (under 14 years of study) of Govt. Colleges or
  3. 9th and 10th Grade or O levels (O2 & O3) of Govt. recognized Private schools.

Financial Award per Awardee: Rs. 20,000/- for TOEIC Bridge

Financial Award per Awardee: Rs. 30,000/- for TOEIC L&R

NTS- ETS Scholarship Terms and Conditions

  1. The following terms and conditions shall be applied when a participants/students/test-taker undertake the test for scholarship purposes.
  2. Scholarships shall be awarded on the following basis:
  • Merit,
  • Age bracket (age shall be calculated on the basis of CNIC/Form B only),
  • Gender (M-F)
  • Rural/Urban Demographic
  • Remoteness of School/institution of education
  • In case of multiple participants with same score are higher than the allocated scholarship awards, computerized draw shall be done by following the above (a-e) criteria to determine the winner.
  • A candidate who succeeded in winning the scholarship cannot win again for the same test category within 12 months time. Rather he or she should sit for a higher level of test category.
  1. NTS employees and their immediate family members are NOT eligible for the scholarship.
  1. Parents or Legal Guardian must sign the registration forms for minors.
  1. The scholarship award cheques (Crossed Cheque only) shall be issued either in the name of successful student (in case 18 years or above) or parents (mother or father) name and shall be sent at the address given in the forms.
  1. NTS scholarship Management Committee decision shall be final and cannot be challenged in any court of law.
